I have breast cancer and heard that curcumin or turmeric are good for arresting tumors. What is your opinion? What else should I do? ~ Alissen/Moorpark, CA
Dear Alissen~Studies indicate that curcumin and turmeric are effective for their Anti-cancer properties, arthritis, as an anti-inflammatory, relieves pain and inflammation, prevents blood clotting, has potent antioxidant properties, aids in the prevention of memory loss and Alzheimer's disease, helps prevent oxidation of blood cholesterol, lowers LDL (bad) cholesterol while increasing HDL (good) cholesterol levels, starves and suppresses growth of tumors and cysts, cleans and protects liver and kidneys, detoxified the body of chemicals and other toxins, helps with edema, aids in digestion and flatulence reduction, possesses antiviral, antimicrobial, and antiparasitic activity.
In our opinion, curcumin (turmeric is about 5% curcumin) is very effective as part of a natural anti-cancer regimen; however, if you are having chemotherapy or radiation therapy, curcumin should not be used within 72 hours before or after therapy, as it may inhibit chemo/radiation therapy's ability to do its job. Curcumin and Turmeric should not be used in conjunction with prescription blood thinners or lubricators.
We also would add in Wobenzym to dissolve fibrotic and necrotic tissue and NSC100 dSM Beta Glucan to enhance the immune system; NSC100 dSM Beta Glucan is the only supplement, other than a good probiotic (such as SupremaDophilus, FloraMore, BioK Plus, etc.), that should be used during chemo or radiation therapy!
Other effective antioxidants and tumor suppressors include Graviola, Cell Forte with IP6 and Inositol, Olive Leaf, Oil of Oregano and Oregamax, Caprylic Acid or Caprylate Complex, Kolorex, Red Marine Algae and more. ~ Vicki
