I am a 48 year old woman with digestion and female problems. I think I am having hormone imbalance but my stomach problems are more disturbing, so I would like to fix that first. I have had gallbladder attacks in the past and 2 years ago I was bitten by a spider and had MRSA. I was on antibiotics for 2 months and have been having abdominal pain with acid reflux since then. My total cholesterol is 127 and my doctor is happy with that. I had a colonscopy and some polyps were removed but I am told there is nothing to prevent regrowth. My doctor also said my blood sugar was too high and put me on Metformin to lose weight but I am not diabetic. My mother had Alzheimer's and I heard you talk about the possible connection between the medications I am taking and Alzheimer's, so I would like to avert that. I take prescriptions (and would like your suggestion for alternatives to each) AcipHex, Crestor, Metformin, Clarinex and Singulair and the mass-marketed vitamins and supplements you talk about sometimes on the air but I do not remember why you advise against them, other than that nurses who are your customers call them "bedpan bullets." Will you please share some ideas of what I can do to get healthier?
