I have been diagnosed with Lichen Planus and my doctor wants to give me steroids. I want to do something natural instead. Any ideas?
Lichen Planus is a skin disorder that results in papules or a rash anywhere on the skin, but especially on the scalp, genitals, nails and in the mouth on the tongue. It is considered a chronic, recurring condition but is not considered contagious. Modern medicine is unsure of the cause of Lichen Planus but there has been observation that certain types may be caused by an allergic reaction to heart and anti-inflammatory medications. It is also believed to be common among those with liver disease, particularly Hepatitis C.
The rash is very like that of those suffering from Neurocutaneous Syndrome (NCS), discovered by Dr. Omar Amin from the Parasitology Center in Tempe, AZ. (see NCS under Dental Concerns). Therefore, we believe there is a correlation between Lichen Planus and the use of dental sealants and metals in conjunction with an already weakened immune system from fungus and possibly parasites, from which we make recommendations accordingly.
Over the years, our customers have found the following combination very effective in resolving Lichen Planus, following the regimen for a minimum of 3 months before decreasing and ultimately discontinuing most, if not all (NOTE: Most important, check with your medical doctor to determine whether or not this regimen is right for your specific needs; if you are taking prescription medications, some of the supplements suggested here may not work well with your medications or you particularl needs!):
we suggest that you follow the Anti-fungal Diet (found under Diets and Cleanses) and the Anti-Fungal Rotation Regimen (found under Fungus and Anti-fungals); success and speed of that success relies heavily upon diligence in eliminating certain food/drink from your diet!
PLUS the following are important to cleanse and rebuild the body; all of these are taken on an empty stomach (a minimum of 45 minutes before or 2 hours after food consumption) and may be taken together at appointed times - NSC-100 or Vital ImmuSol Beta Glucan: 1-2 upon rising and 2 at bedtime Vital Flora or FloraMax50: 2 upon rising and 2 at bedtime Vital Proteozymes or Wobenzym: work your way up to 10 upon rising, 10 midday and 10 at bedtime
Many customers say they take other supplements, as well, such as a multi-vitamin, extra Vitamin C, flax oil, etc. and that is fine but we do not believe these supplements are nearly as important as those listed above.
PLEASE be sure to allow time; Lichen Planus does not occur over night and, in fact, typically takes years of body abuse before it presents itself to the point that you are diagnosed. So be patient, diligent with any regimen you decide to adopt and eliminate any stressors you have that add complication to your life ~ be well.
